Khamci & Bhoto

At the beginning of my Ph.D., I worked on the documentation and description of Khamci & Bhoto, two closely related languages spoken in Far-and Mid-Western Nepal.

Khamci Language

Khamci is spoken by the last group of nomadic Rautes who wander the Mid-Western districts of Doti, Bajura, Accham, Kalikot, Dailekh, Surkhet and Jajarkot.

Bhoto Language

Bhoto is spoken by a group of Rautes who, before starting a sedentary life in the Far-Western district of Dadeldhura, were living a nomadic life in the forests of the Far-Western district of Darchula.
